John has developed several team building activities, using popular songs and the talent of workshop participants. The creative activities are a fun and lively way to get people to connect with each other at a deeper level, and to diagnose and or advocate strategies for their own organization. Using Instrumental-only versions of songs by Sinatra, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, winter holiday classics, to name a few, participants in small groups are able to craft new lyrics and , yes, perform them in insightful and sometimes, just sometimes, hilarious ways. John has designed numerous activities using participant song-writing and performing. The "Table Team Song Writing Activity" about relevant topics (Leadership, Change, Organizational culture) has proven to be an effective right-brain, team building activity that can be used to capture the participant's learning, explore new ideas, and/or to provide a ceremonial and celebratory closing activity. The "Song Title" Warm-up Activity is also a great way to loosen up the group and get them to share their expectations of thoughts about a topic. The "Song Writing – Between – Tables Activity" (Table One writes on or two lines of a popular song. Table two writes another, and so on), can be an effective intergroup building activity. The final performance is a hoot! |
